OEM and ODM are often used together, but buyers usually need different levels of support depending on how developed their product idea is.
When OEM is a good fit
OEM cooperation is useful when a buyer wants to work from an existing product platform and customize commercial elements such as logo, color, packaging or selected specifications that are technically feasible. This route can reduce development complexity and is often suitable for distributors, retailers and new private-label projects.
When ODM may be more suitable
ODM becomes more relevant when the buyer needs deeper product-development support, such as changes to appearance, structure, user interaction or feature combinations. The required time, sample stages and tooling considerations can be different from a basic OEM project.
How to choose
If the goal is speed and a proven product base, start by reviewing the current Yolais product range. If the project requires more extensive changes, share the target concept, market and feature requirements so feasibility can be evaluated.
Keep the project measurable
Whether OEM or ODM, define the approved sample, packaging reference, order quantity, shipment method and key quality points before mass production. Our OEM & ODM service page explains the workflow in more detail.
